LinkedIn - April 18, 2017 - The practice of overbooking flights is here to stay as it helps the economics of the travel industry, but there needs to be a better way to handle the removal of passengers from flights in the moment. Allowing the airlines to engage in an auction without government enforced compensation caps would solve that problem, as airlines would be able to maximize revenue and travelers would be in control of how much their seat is worth.
